Dr Ali Ahmed Shuaib

Dr Ali Ahmed-Shuaib serves as Director of Policy and Communication at the Centre for Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (cames.org.uk). He works as a Consultant in General Practice and Associate Specialist in Otolaryngology, He has also developed a passion for Lifestyle Medicine and Medical Education. Over the last three decades, he has developed a keen interest in international relations, de-colonial studies, secular liberalism and its impact on modern society and particularly looking at the evolution of society through diverging world viewpoints.
This has led him to pursue an LLM in International legal studies from the University of East London. His thesis was titled “Political Islam and the West – Collision, Conquest or Convergence ?” His writings include “Establishing the authority without authoritarianism – a quest for accountable governance within Islamic political discourse” and “Democratising Islam- Imposing the Demos on the Divine ?”. He also completed postgraduate studies in Medical Education from the University of Cambridge. Dr Shuaib also lends his expertise as a board executive for various health charities and also advises entrepreneurial startups.
Nazmul Hoque

Nazmul Hoque has dedicated over 25 years to serving the Muslim community through da‘wah, education, and community leadership. Having pursued studies in Islamic sciences both in the UK and in Egypt, he combines traditional scholarship with an understanding of the contemporary British context.
He is a regular khateeb at Canary Wharf and various mosques across London, where his khutbahs and lectures are known for being insightful, accessible, and relevant to the needs of the community. Through his continued service, he has become a trusted figure, committed to nurturing faith, understanding, and unity among Muslims in the UK.
Dr Nasim Ghani
Senior Adviser and Strategist
Dr Nasim Ghani has over three decades of experience in Islamic da‘wah and public engagement. A passionate advocate for unity within the Muslim community, he has consistently worked in fostering collaboration and mutual respect among diverse perspectives.
He is also a firm believer in building constructive, respectful relationships with people of all backgrounds and faiths, reflecting his commitment to shared values and social harmony. His professional role as a family physician has given him a unique vantage point into the personal and societal challenges facing individuals and families, further deepening his understanding of the broader concerns within the community.
Beyond his medical and community work, he remains deeply engaged with the pressing issues confronting the global Muslim Ummah. He dedicates considerable thought and energy to identifying meaningful, principled solutions to these complex challenges, drawing on both Islamic tradition and contemporary insights. His work embodies a commitment to thoughtful dialogue, compassionate leadership, and practical reform.
Dr Safaruk Chowdhury

Research Scholar in Islamic theology and philosophy, Ibn Rushd Centre of Excellence for Islamic Research. Safaruk Chowdhury studied Philosophy at Kings College London completing it with the accompanying Associate of Kings College (AKC) award. He then traveled to Cairo to study the traditional Islamic Studies curricula at al-Azhar University. He returned to the UK to complete his MA at the School of Oriental and African Studies with distinction. His doctoral dissertation was on the eminent Sufi hagiographer and theoretician Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami (d. 412/1021) published as A Sufi Apologist of Nishapur: The Life and Thought of Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami (Sheffield: Equinox Publishing, 2019).

Provides strategic insight through active involvement on mosque management committees and advisory boards across various sectors. Founder of The Great Debate, creating platforms for dialogue and engagement between diverse communities and wider society.
Muhammad S. Ahmed
Dialogue Research & Content Strategist
Tech and engineering professional by training, he is also a keen explorer of history, theology, comparative religion, and anthropology. This blend of analytical precision and deep humanistic inquiry drives his passion for orchestrating meaningful dialogues. He likes to connect with influencers and academics to address today’s critical global and Muslim-community challenges, thereby seeking to build bridges and find meaningful solutions.

Abu Foysol is a UK-based photographer, filmmaker, and post-production specialist with nearly two decades of experience. Since 2006, he has worked on a wide range of projects for Netflix, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the NHS, BIMA, Channel S, and many other commercial brands.
He has also collaborated internationally with non-profit organisations. Through his company Abu Foysol provides high-quality photography, filmmaking, and post-production services for the professional and commercial sector—bringing stories to life with creativity and technical excellence.
